MCT Oil
MCT Oil (Medium Chain Triglycerides) by Nestle Nutrition is a modular source of MCT for patients unable to digest or absorb conventional fats. MCTs are more readily hydrolyzed and absorbed than conventional food fat. MCTs require less enzymes and bile acids for digestion. MCT Oil is a Medical Food - consumers should consult with their physician on the use of this product. Please note that MCT Oil needs to be stored at room temperature and in it's original glass container. Good for 3 months after opening.
MCT Oil Intended Use:
- Defect in the intraluminal hydrolysis of fat (decreased pancreatic lipase, decreased bile salts)
- Defective mucosal fat absorption (decreased mucosal permeability, decreased absorptive surface)
- Defective lymphatic transport of fat (ie, intestinal lymphatic obstruction)
